Wet pour rubber is a seamless, impact-absorbing safety surface that is mixed and laid on site, making it one of the most popular choices of playground flooring for nurseries, schools and play parks. Our goal is to create safe, colourful play environments that provide maximum play enjoyment. To achieve this we work closely with our customers from the design stage through to installation, delivering a quality finish with stunning visual impact.
Wet Pour:
- Available in a range of colours
- Coloured shapes, logos and floor games can also be laid into the surface to give an individual theme and provide additional play value
- Available in various thicknesses depending on the equipment installed
- Complies with BS EN 1177 and BS 7188
What Is Wet Pour Rubber Surfacing?
Wet pour is usually laid in two layers: a shock-absorbing base of recycled rubber crumb, topped with a hard-wearing layer of coloured rubber granules. Both layers are bound together and trowelled by hand on site, so the surface follows the shape of your playground with no joins, edges or trip points. The depth of the base layer is set by the critical fall height of the equipment it sits under, which is why we confirm surfacing depths as part of every design.
Why Choose Wet Pour For Your Playground?
- Impact protection: cushions falls beneath climbing frames, swings and trim trails, with protection for fall heights of up to 3m.
- Accessible for all: the smooth, firm finish is easy for wheelchairs, walking frames and pushchairs to cross, making it a natural fit for SEN playgrounds and inclusive play spaces.
- Free draining: the porous surface lets rainwater drain through, so children can get back outside soon after a shower.
- Playful designs: colours, shapes, logos and floor games can be inlaid into the surface, turning the floor into part of the play.
- Low maintenance: regular sweeping and an occasional clean keep it looking its best.
Wet Pour Or Other Safety Surfacing?
Wet pour works well wherever you want a continuous, colourful finish. Many playgrounds combine it with synthetic grass or cellular rubber mats, and our design team will recommend the right surfacing for each area of your space. Explore our full range of playground safety surfacing.
