Make Your Own Trail
Make Your Own Trail lets you build a bespoke adventure trail from individual components, mixing climbing, balancing and crawling elements into a circuit that suits your space. At Schoolscapes we help primary schools, nurseries and community spaces design trails for children aged around 4 to 14.
Because you choose each element, a trail can grow with your budget and be tailored to different ages and abilities. Shorter, low-level layouts build early confidence for EYFS children, while longer, more challenging circuits stretch Key Stage 2 pupils and develop their balance, coordination and agility.
Design a Trail Around Your Space and Pupils
Every site is different, so a modular trail is a flexible way to make the most of an awkward corner, a field edge or a long, narrow strip. You decide the order and difficulty of the elements, creating a continuous challenge that keeps children active and engaged at break times and during PE.
Outdoor Learning and Active Play in One
A trail is as much about outdoor learning as physical activity, encouraging exploration, problem-solving and resilience. Elements pair naturally with climbing frames and outdoor gym equipment, and our team can advise on safety surfacing and layout. We offer a free design service to schools and multi-academy trusts across the UK.
