UK outdoor play company, Schoolscapes, celebrates 20 years in business with new team members and a new building.
Schoolscapes – a family-run playground equipment designer, manufacturer and provider based in Wadebridge, North Cornwall – has been transforming school and community playgrounds throughout the UK since 1996.
A landscape-design practice specialising in school grounds design. Today, the company offers everything from design through to manufacturing and installation, for schools and local parks up and down the country.
Local job opportunities
Schoolscapes is now a major local employer, providing 31 local jobs across its manufacturing, design, installations, sales and marketing departments. This year saw the company expand by 35%, going from 26 to 35 staff; and is set to recruit more talent in the year to come.
“Powered by the Cornish sunshine”
The Cornwall-based company has long been committed to improving the environment with its natural timber play equipment lovingly crafted by local carpenters. Now the company is going one step further with a solar-powered new building:
“Schoolscapes decided to push on with our environmental improvements with new state-of-the-art manufacturing and office space – all run on the lovely Cornish sunshine,”
“The new office and design departments will bring the company closer together and allow us to expand our exciting product range,”
Helping children get active
The Schoolscapes team know that fun, active outdoor play is key to improving the health and life outcomes of children. They understand that finances are increasingly stretched and offer flexible packages to suit every budget.
If your school, charity or community group needs a new playground but can’t afford it, Schoolscapes can put you in touch with specialist grant writers to unlock funding of up to £10,000 for your active play project.
